DREAM OF A DIVERSE LEBANON
Can’t help but dream of a diverse Lebanon driven by harmony and united under the same flag, our Lebanese flag. It’s such a critical time and we must know what we want ! Let’s start by differentiating between good leadership and dangerous leadership so that we don’t end up supporting dangerous leadership! I did some research and tried to understand how, credible scholars, define good leadership and found a book called “Understanding Prime-Misterial Performance” by Strangio, Hart and Walter (2013). A critical parameter in defining the success of a leader is that he/she has “to maintain national unity”!!! So a good leader is one that brings diversity together and creates a common ground called National Unity. Dangerous leadership separates people, fuels anger between groups, ensures that the people are fragmented and afraid of each other, ensures that the people are not united because they can control them easier. The leadership we need to seek is one that unleashes people’s passion towards our country and each other, it is one that celebrates and rewards diversity it is one that institutes fair policies and systems that are consistently applied on all Lebanese regardless of religion. We deserve good leadership!

As an expert in Managing Change, Transforming Culture, and Driving effective Strategy Formation, Talent Acquisition and Retention, and Process Design, Dr. Nahla Bou-Diab has been recognized as a credible leader, earning 7 awards for leadership excellence since 2015. Dr. Nahla is considered an expert in building organizations, she has earned her Doctorate Degree from University of Liverpool, in Business Administration, her research was recognized as an important contribution to both scholarly and practitioner knowledge. Dr. Bou-Diab joined AM Bank s.a.l. in the year 2000 and is currently the Deputy General Manager-COO of the Bank. In September 2017, Nahla accepted the appointment by the World Union of Arab Bankers, as Head the Women Empowerment Group for the financial and banking sector in the Arab World. She is an active Mentor at Endeavor, and volunteers her time to support SME’s by helping young entrepreneurs to effectively drive their business.
